Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR).
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is a chemical process that with the help of a catalyst (AdBlue) eliminates nitrogen oxides (NOX, high polluting greenhouse effect gases) and ammonia (NH3).
In the automotive business this chemical system is used in diesel engine vehicles in order to reduce the greenhouse gases that are ejected through the exhaust pipe.
An SCR system injects small quantities of pulverized AdBlue® in the exhaust gases to produce a catalytic reaction which converts toxic Nox gases in nitrogen and water vapour. The AdBlue® tank has normally an independent filling line from the diesel tank.
Ilpea produces these filling systems. Systems which have filler heads whose plastic components ensure important weight and cost reductions. These systems include the injection and welding of integrated assemblies such as expansion chambers or filler heads compatibles with AdBlue® dispensers. SCR filling lines can have their own venting systems, which cover a wide range of sizes and must have geometrical flexibility to meet vehicle assembly in complex car assembly environments. These systems must have aswell their own anti-mistake magnetic system which ensures that the user does not mistake and fill fuel inside the AdBlue® tank.
Ilpea offers a wide range of different solutions in both straight and convoluted tubes, with a wide range of materials thought for this application, ensuring therefore that the catalytic reaction is optimized, helping consequently to increase the vehicles efficiency.
